Police Blotter: Police Bust Prescription Pill Seller

Orland Park police, March 16-25

Marijuana Tickets

March 25: Two men received drug-related tickets after police stopped a car at 94th Avenue and Sunrise Lane around 8 p.m. because its driver wasn’t wearing a seat belt, police said. A bag of marijuana and a marijuana cigarette were found in the car, according to the report.

The driver, Concepcion W. Ortiz, 18, of the 600 block of Mockingbird Lane Willowbrook, and his passenger Terry M. Kazupski, 23, of the 9000 block of 48th Court in Oak Lawn were charged with possession of cannabis, police said.

Scratched Car, Face

March 24: Manal Ali, 30, of the 15400 block of Treetop Drive in Orland Park, was charged with domestic battery and criminal damage to property. Police said Ali scratched both the trunk of a woman’s car and then that woman’s face around 4 p.m. in the 15400 block of Treetop Drive. Ali also choked the woman when they fell to the ground, police said.

Prescription Pills Found

March 23: Robb A. DaBaco, 40, of the 7400 block of Tiffany Drive in Orland Park, was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Police said they obtained a warrant and arrested DaBaco as he walked his dogs around 4:30 p.m. for selling prescription drugs. They interviewed DaBaco while they searched his home and found 12 full bottles of pills, several pills without bottles and a leather pouch with liquid steroid bottles and needles, police said.

Retail Theft

March 22: Angela N. Cort, 26, of the 16700 block of Lakewood Drive in Tinley Park, was charged with retail theft. Security at a store in the 15800 block of 94th Avenue told police Cort hid $591 worth of clothing into two large bags and tried leaving the store around 10:30 a.m. without paying.

Domestic Battery

March 21: Raymond I. Homolka, 54, of the 1400 block of Sheri Lane in Orland Park, was charged with domestic battery and interfering with the reporting of domestic battery. Police said Homolka lunged at a woman in his home around 9:30 p.m., knocking her to the ground, after she tried taking a photo of him on her new cell phone. As she tried to dial police, Homolka grabbed her and initially prevented her from dialing police, according to the report. Police said she left the home and called police.

By the time police arrived, Homolka had locked the doors and shut off the lights, police said. He tried warding police off by throwing his cell phone as they entered and hiding behind his aggressive dogs, police said. A cut above his eye was reported, though Homolka refused medical treatment.

Some of the attack was caught on the woman’s cell phone and entered into evidence by police, according to the report.

Domestic Battery, Assault

Wojtek M. Oszal, 32, of the 17600 block of Allison Lane in Orland Park, was charged with domestic battery and assault. Police said Oszal knocked a bowl of food into a woman’s face in his apartment around 11 p.m. and then threatened to “put a bullet” in the head of another woman. No weapon was found in the apartment, police said.

Retail Theft II

March 17: Nina L. Damjanovich, 18, of the 1700 block of Windfield Drive in Munster, Ind., was charged with retail theft. Orland Square Mall security told police Damjanovich left a department store around 5 p.m. with three pieces of clothing in her purse.

Retail Theft III

March 16: Jacquelin M. Delorenzo, 18, of the 5700 block of Dover Road in Oak Forest, was charged with retail theft. Employees at a store in the 9200 block of 159th Street told police Delorenzo left the store around 6:45 p.m. with a pair of pink shoes in her purse.
