Police Blotter: Quips, Punches and Nap Time

Wednesday Dec. 29

Quip'n'Punch

Officers said Nicole D. Paoletti, 26, of the 3600 block of South Clinton Avenue in Berwyn, was charged with battery. Police were called about a fight between a group of women at around 11:15 p.m., according to reports. Several witnesses said Paoletti and two other women were sitting at a table and were making provoking quips at other women seated at the bar, according to police. Paoletti then punched one of the women at the bar, which caused beer to spill on the floor, leading to another bystander slipping and falling, police said.

Noisy Herbs

Officers said Maxymilian D. Adamczyk, 22, of the 11700 block of Mark Lane in Orland Park, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said they were called to a loud party in the 9100 block of 140th Street around 12:15 a.m. Officers smelled burnt marijuana in the condo, and found two bags of marijuana inside, as well as a glass pipe and a metal grinder, according to the report.

Tuesday, Dec. 28

Lottery Swipe

Carolyn A. Vivirito, 58, of the 14500 block of Linder Court in Oak Forest, was charged with retail theft, according to reports. Police said they were called to by store security about an employee who took lottery tickets from the store on Dec. 21. Vivirito was seen on surveillance footage taking $25 worth of lottery tickets, officers said.

Monday, Dec. 27

Domestic Battery

Frederick L. Parks, 56, of the 11700 block of Brookshire Drive in Orland Park, was charged with domestic battery. Police said they were called about a possible domestic dispute in the 11700 block of Brookshire Drive around 7:50 p.m. A woman said Parks grabbed her head and pulled her towards him during an argument, according to the report. An officer said he saw red marks on the right side of the woman’s face. Parks said the woman started yelling and came towards him, and that he pushed her to defend himself, according to the report.

Sunday, Dec. 26

School Hideout

James B. Gillespie, 22, of the 1800 block of Cherry Court in Morris, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said a car was seen driving out of the parking lot near Jerling Junior High School around 11:05 p.m., and was then pulled over on 151st Street near Regent Drive. The officer smelled a faint odor of marijuana, and then found marijuana and a pipe in the vehicle during a search, police said.

Slide Turn

Anthony R. Socki, 27, of the 8900 block of Barleycorn Court in Orland Park, was charged with driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content greater than .08, improper lane use, improper turning and driving too fast for conditions. Police said a car was seen swerving between the left and right lanes in the 9000 block of 151st Street around 1 a.m. The car was driving too fast for the slushy conditions, and while braking, the car slid across the intersection with Orlan Brook Drive before turning onto the street, according to the report. The officer said he smelled alcohol on the driver’s breath.

Thursday, Dec. 23

Nap Time is for Kindergarten

John M. Marta, 30, of the 17200 block of Brookgate Drive in Orland Park, was charged with driving under the influence and possession of marijuana. Police said a man was seen sleeping behind the wheel of a running car parked in the Jerling Junior High School parking lot around 12:15 p.m. Marta woke up after several knocks on the window, and was unable to focus for a few minutes, police said. When Marta stepped out of the car, it started rolling because his foot had been on the brake and the car was in gear, according to the report. A bag of marijuana was found in the car. He said he wasn’t sure how he ended up in the parking lot, according to reports.
