FRIDAY, JULY 15

Theft … and Other Charges

Charles E. Turner, 28, of the 1600 block of 5th Avenue in Kankakee, was charged with theft, driving with a revoked license, driving without insurance, and driving with unlawful registration. Police were called to Kohl's, 3 Orland Park Place, around noon about a theft in progress. The officer stopped the suspect in the Toys ’R’ Us parking lot and found that the registration on Turner's vehicle was for another car, according to the report. Loss prevention at Kohl's identified a pair of shoes that had been stolen and found in Turner's car, police said.

Old Navy Theft

Jessica N. Morgan, 18, of the 100 block of Meadow North Road in Bourbonnais, was charged with retail theft. Loss prevention at Old Navy, 105 Orland Park Place, reported seeing Morgan and three juveniles take merchandise and conceal it in their purses before leaving the store without paying around 3 p.m. Morgan was released on bond. The three juveniles were cited and released to their parents.

TUESDAY, JULY 12

DUI

Jaylnn M. Orozco, 47, of the 15800 block of Scotsglen Road in Orland Park, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Police on patrol in the 8000 block of 159th Street just before midnight saw Orozco make an illegal left turn. The officer smelled alcohol on the driver's breath, and Orozco failed field sobriety tests, police said. Orozco was released on bond.

MONDAY, JULY 11

Theft from Work Site

John E. Ericks, 43, of the 10700 block of Louisiana Court in Orland Park, was charged with theft, improper display of license plates, driving without insurance, and no registration. A witness said Ericks had stolen some fencing material from a work site near the intersection of 183rd and Wolf Road around 10:30 a.m. Ericks was spotted by police near 159th Street and 104th Avenue, and the officer saw the fencing material in Ericks' car, according to the report. The fencing was later returned to the work site manager.

THURSDAY, JULY 7

Theft and Drug Paraphernalia

Shaina R. Offord, 23, and Tori L. Noel, 19, both of the 3700 block of 174th Court in Lansing, were each cited for theft on the grounds of possession of stolen property; Diona L. Offord, 19, of the 3700 block of 174th Court in Lansing, was charged with theft; and Crystal A. Biron, 19, of the 2200 block of East 177th Street in Lansing, was charged with theft, driving without insurance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police on patrol near the intersection of 151st Street and LaGrange Road stopped the driver, Biron, for not wearing a seat belt around 7:30 p.m. During the stop, Noel had put something near her feet. The officer saw several items in the car with the tags still attached, police said. Noel, Biron, and Shaina and Dionna Offord admitted the items were stolen. Later, a metal cannabis grinder was found in Biron's purse, police said.
