THURSDAY, APRIL 28

Team Theft

Police were called about a retail theft at a department store in Orland Square Mall around 6:15 p.m. Security reported that a juvenile boy was seen taking T-shirts from racks, placing them in his pants and leaving the store without paying. The boy ran from security out into the parking lot, where he was stopped and the two shirts were recovered, police said. The boy was with other people who were in the mall, one of whom was later seen taking two pairs of pants and two shirts into a dressing room and then leaving the room without the items in hand before leaving the store without paying, police said. The items found are worth $120, and the items found on the juvenile are worth $50. Ricky D. Larkin, 18, of the 22700 block of Lakeshore Drive in Richton Park, was cited for retail theft.

Outside Voice

Police were called about a man and woman yelling at each other outside in the 10400 block of Capistrano Lane around 5:35 a.m., and police found the two still arguing. The man wouldn’t cooperate with police and had to be placed in handcuffs while officers investigated, according to the report. Neither the man nor the woman showed signs of injuries, but both are 18 years old and admitted to drinking throughout the night, police said. The man yelled profanities and threatened to find the police officers’ homes and beat them up, according to the report. David M. Stewart, 18, of the 14900 block of Hopkins Court, was charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor and two counts of aggravated assault. Leah M. Hanlon, 18, of the 10400 block of Capistrano Lane, was cited for consumption of alcohol by a minor.

Domestic Battery

Police were called about a domestic battery that happened a day earlier in the 15200 block of El Cameno Real around 5 p.m. Police were told that a man slapped a woman in the face, grabbed her arms and shook her. The man later said he was slapped by the woman and grabbed her arms afterward, police said. Bruises were visible on the woman’s wrists and upper arms, police said. Santiago Lopez, 35, of the 15200 block of El Cameno Real, was charged with domestic battery.

Jewelry Magnet

Police were called about a retail theft at a department store in Orland Square Mall around 8:40 p.m. A woman was seen by security taking jewelry out of boxes and placing them on her hands and wrists, as well as in coat pockets, according to the report. The woman was then seen taking six pairs of jeans and a pair of sunglasses into a dressing room, leaving without the items in hand and walking out of the store without paying, police said. The total value of merchandise found on her is $951.53. Stacy L. Presler, 38, of the 34100 block of Rivals Road in Wilmington, was charged with retail theft.
