Police Blotter: Texting While Driving Under the Influence

Orland Park police reports, Feb. 5-6

SUNDAY, FEB. 6

Stopped at Green Light

Michael J. Levickis, 30, of the 11300 block of Depot Street in Worth, was charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage, disobeying a traffic signal and driving with a loud muffler. Police said they stopped Levickis’ car at Orlan Brook Drive and Shagbark Court around 2 a.m. for making a wide right turn, swerving between lanes and abruptly stopping his car at a green light.

Oncoming Traffic

Eula M. Adams, 61, of the 6700 block of Oglesby in Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage and driving an uninsured vehicle. Police said they stopped Adams’ car in the 14900 block of Wolf Road around 4 a.m. for crossing into an oncoming traffic lane.

Swerve and Protect

Christina D. Fischer, 23, of the 7500 block of Benton Drive in Frankfort, was charged with driving under the influence, driving without a license, no front/rear license plate, obstructed view and taillights required. Police said they stopped Fischer’s car in the 18200 block of La Grange Road around 12:15 a.m. for swerving between lanes.

SATURDAY. FEB. 5

Jewelry Stolen

Veronica Gatermann, 23, no address provided, was charged with retail theft around 3:45 p.m. Police said Gatermann pocketed one bracelet and three packages of rings worth a combined $28 from a jewelry store in Orland Square Mall.

Thompsons

Brandi F. Thompson, 20, of the 7700 block of Ridgeland Avenue in Chicago, and Nakeisha Thompson, 18, of the 1500 block of Clarence Avenue in Berwyn, were charged with retail theft. Security told police that the Thompsons, with the aid of two juveniles, left a department store around 4:45 p.m. without paying for several bags full of clothing, according to the report.

Texting While Driving

Tusk L. Hall, 25, of the 28100 block of Harlem Avenue in Peotone, was charged with DUI, texting while driving and improper lane usage. Police said they stopped Hall’s car in the 13900 block of La Grange Road around 2:45 a.m. for swerving and speeding. Police determined, during questioning, that Hall has been texting while driving, according to the report.
