MONDAY, APRIL 25
Full Bag
Police said they were called about a retail theft at a department store in Orland Square Mall around 6:15 p.m. Security said a woman was seen taking items into a dressing room, and then left the room without the items in hand, according to police. The woman left the store without making a purchase, and the items she was carrying were found in a bag she had, according to the report. Police said Denise V. Rios, 24, of the 4700 block of Newberry Avenue in Oak Forest, was charged with retail theft.
Shades to Arrest
Police said they were called about a retail theft at a store in Orland Square Mall around 6:50 p.m. Security said a man was seen taking a pair of sunglasses off a display and placing them in his pants pocket, according to the report. Police dispatch found a warrant for the man’s arrest while he was being processed, officers said. Drake R. Lafond, 18, of the 1200 block of Porter Place in Lockport, was arrested in connection with a failure-to-appear warrant for disorderly conduct and charged with retail theft.

FRIDAY, APRIL 22
Yelling Threats
Police said they were called about a disturbance at Orland Square Mall around 5:35 p.m. A man was held by security and yelling loudly, according to the report. Earlier, he had been yelling threats and lunged at a person, police said. Mark E. Burks, 48, of the 10700 block of Calumet Avenue, was charged with assault, according to reports.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 6
Full Purses
Police said they were called about a retail theft at a department store in Orland Square Mall around 8:55 p.m. A woman and a female juvenile were seen by security walking into fitting rooms with items, and left the rooms without the items, police said. Both females were carrying purses that looked more full when they exited the rooms than when they went in, according to the report. The two females were then seen leaving the store without buying any merchandise, police said. Marissa A. Sperti, 18, of the 8000 block of Stonegate Drive in Tinley Park, was charged with retail theft. Three pieces of clothes worth $71 were found on Sperti, while nine pieces of clothing worth $392.02 were found on the juvenile, according to the report.
