UPDATE: Charges were later dropped against Juris in this case.
Back in December, Stacie Juris said she was looking forward to competing again in the Miss Illinois Pageant later this year, after she in last November’s competition.
Later in April, she left a department store in the Orland Square Mall with $288 worth of clothing in her purse, according to an Orland Park police report. Officers were called to the mall by security who said she tried to leave a store without paying for the items on April 4 around 1 p.m., police said.
Juris, 20, of the 8100 block of Glenbrook Place in Tinley Park, was charged with retail theft.
On the same day of the charge, Juris posted a one-word message on her Twitter account: humbled.
Police report information is provided by law enforcement agencies. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions taken on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. If you or a family member are charged or cited and the case is subsequently adjudicated, we encourage you to notify the editor. We will verify and report the outcome.
She is such a pretty girl. Feel sad for her and her beautiful family and friends.
Only reason Pat Boone did that BS wasn't cause he had any guilt feelings like he stated. He did it for the publicity. He was trying look at me I am a clean honest person. Yeah OK? I never bought that bull any more than I bought Jimmy Swaggart, while he was on television with his alligator tears rolling saying I have sinned against you Lord. Cause he was caught with a prostitute. They all just sold everyone swamp land. Also it should be dropped and forgotten about later on. Its not a big deal. Not condoning her actions. But we need to stop holding on to BS. There is much worse things going on in this world than a crazy shoplifting incident.
Making much 'ado about nothing. Sounds like too many of you are watching those dopey killers on "First 48". This is as basic a shoplifting charge as can be.
She was took some overpriced clothes that were made by young childgren in another country for meer penny's. ah, Everybody always gets caught. It's a reality check for her now. Now the legal team makes a profit next... and she gets dragged thru the mud... Lesson learned. She got a little greedy, that's all.
Are you for real? Those poor girls have to enter these contests and the clothes are so expensive, they can't find someone to sponsor them so they have no other choice than to shoplift? I have another choice for you..... don't enter the contest!
