Police Use Taser Twice on Man Who Allegedly Punched Cop

A 29-year-old Orland Park man was hit with two jolts of a Taser after hitting a police officer trying to arrest him, police said.

Maurice Williams, 29, of the 18100 block of Imperial Lane in Orland Park, was charged with felony aggravated battery to a police office, three counts of resisting a police officer and disorderly conduct, according to an Orland Park police report.

Officers were called at about 2:10 a.m. on March 9 to a home in the 18100 block of Imperial Lane, according to police. Williams and a person he lives were had an argument that involved alleged sexual advances made toward a guest staying in the house.

Police reportedly tried to calm Williams, who was yelling, accusing officers of trying to get him out of the house and calling them names.

Officers then tried to Williams, who flailed his arms to avoid the handcuffs and punched one officer in the face, according to police. Another officer injured his knee trying to arrest Williams.

While on the ground, Williams continued to struggle and throw punches. After issuing warnings, police used a Taser to stun Williams twice before he stopped struggling.

He was due in Bridgeview court on March 10.
