Matthew Senica, 25, of the 13700 Block of 88th Ave. was indicted by Judge Peter Felice at the Cook County Circuit Court in Bridgeview and is still in custody on a $1 million bail. He was charged July 11 with felony aggravated driving under the influence.
The nurse, 51-year-old Heidi Roseen of Lockport, was on her way to Advocate Christ Medical Center from her Lockport home, heading east on 95th Street at about 6:20 a.m. July 8 around, according to Cook County Sheriff Spokesman Frank Bilecki.
Senica was driving back to Orland Park from what he described to police was a night of drinking in Chicago. Police said he was heading south on LaGrange Road and drove through the red light at the intersection with 95th Street.
Senica’s Ford F150 truck hit Roseen’s vehicle, and Roseen was later declared dead by fellow staff at Christ, Bilecki said.
“Preliminary analysis by our accident reconstruction team indicated that Matthew came into the intersection at well over 70 mph,” Bilecki said.
Heidi and her husband Thomas would have celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary in August. She also left behind three children, all in their 20s.
