Sex Assault Case Pushed Back to February

Kevin Skaritka, of Orland Park, is still facing sex assault charges though he pleaded guilty to sending sex chats and naked pictures of himself to a supposed teen in a different and unrelated case.

An Orland Park man accused of sexually assaulting a girl while in Orland Park and Palos Hills is scheduled to return to court in February.

Kevin Skaritka, 36, is charged with multiple counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault, and has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Skaritka’s attorneys have asserted that alibis could be provided for the specific dates and times he is accused of molesting the girl between 2009 and 2011. His attorneys previously claimed that work time sheets show he was clocked in at his job during times he is accused of committing the acts.

Skaritka was out of custody and on electronic home monitoring for the sex assault charges, when in Aug. 2012 he was back in court. Skaritka was accused of sex-chatting with who he thought was a 14-year-old girl in St. Louis, but was actually an undercover police officer. He was accused of sending naked pictures of himself, and asking for nude shots in return on Yahoo Instant Messenger, using his real name as a screen name, according to prosecutors.

In October, Skaritka pleaded guilty to one count of distributing harmful materials. Judge John Hynes sentenced him to two years in prison, one year of probation and $709 in fines.
