Shoplifter Found in Bushes After Running Through Mall: Blotter

TUESDAY, MARCH 19

Retail Theft Charged After Mall Chase

Thomas S. Wells, 50, of the 100 block of Galena Avenue in Aurora, was charged with retail theft, according to a report. He is accused of stealing a $100 Chicago Bears Matt Forte jersey and a $50 Chicago Bulls Carlos Boozer jersey. Wells was found by police at about 8:13 p.m. hiding in the bushes near the District 135 building on 94th Avenue after an employee at Carson Pirie Scott, 288 Orland Square Dr., chased him through the mall. Wells was due in Bridgeview court on March 20.

Warrant Arrest

Adam N. Bolda, 22, of the 600 block of Goldfinch Lane in New Lenox, was arrested on an outstanding Orland Park warrant for driving with a suspended license at about 2:50 a.m., according to a report. He was picked up from the New Lenox Police Department and taken into Orland Park custody.

DUI Charge For Oak Forest Man

Anthony M. Przytula, 48, of the 6100 block of LaGrange Court in Oak Forest, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI with a blood-alcohol level greater than 0.08 and speeding, according to a report. Przytula was seen traveling 59mph in a 45mph zone at about 11:53 p.m. in the 16500 block of 80th Avenue. During a traffic stop, Przytula appeared to have difficulty rolling down his window. An officer reported smelling a strong odor of alcohol coming from the driver’s breath. He took field sobriety tests and a breath test before he was arrested. He is due in Bridgeview court on May 7.

FRIDAY, MARCH 15

Retail Theft Charge

Jasmine Dominique Griggs, 19, of the 600 block of 131 Street in Chicago, was charged with retail theft, according to a report. She is accused of taking five pairs of jeans, valued at $270 total, without paying at about 1:43 p.m. from J.C. Penny, 3 Orland Square Dr. She is due in Bridgeview court on April 13.
