Spate of Retail Thefts: Blotter

SATURDAY, MARCH 30

DUI Charge for Homer Glen Driver

David C. Ashley, 57, of the 15600 block of White Pine Court, Homer Glen, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane use and driving without insurance, according to a report. He was stopped at about 1:39 a.m. after police observed him drifting in the roadway near Ravinia Avenue and 159th Street. Ashley spoke with slow, slurred speech and smelled strongly of alcohol. He was arrested after performing field sobriety tests. Ashley was due April 16 in Bridgeview court.

Retail Theft Charge for Chicago Woman

Angela M. McGowan, 52, of the 7000 block of Michigan Drive, Chicago, was charged with retail theft, according to a report. She is accused of taking $129.52 worth of items from Old Navy, 105 Orland Park Place Mall. She also was found to have an outstanding Oak Lawn warrant for retail theft. She is due on May 20 in Bridgeview court.

2 Retail Theft Charges

Rita Martinez, 60, and Liesel M. Martinez, 29, both of the 13000 block of Chicago Street, Blue Island, were charged with felony retail theft, according to a report. They are accused of stealing $515.75 of items from display racks at Macy’s, 1 Orland Square Dr. They were due on March 30 in Markham court.

H&M Clothing Theft

Jessica J. Griggs, 18, of the 2500 block of Brookwood Drive, Flossmoor, was charged with retail theft, possession of stolen property and criminal trespass to land, according to a report. She is accused of taking property H&M Clothing Store, 284 Orland Square Dr. Griggs has previously been given trespassing warnings for Orland Square Mall and had been banned. She is due on May 20 at Bridgeview court.

Outstanding Warrant

Antonio L. High, 29, of the 15300 block of Ashland, Harvey, was arrested by Robbins police on an outstanding Orland Park warrant, according to a report. Orland Park police picked up High from Robbins at about 11:23 p.m. He was due on March 30 at Markham court.
