A beloved Brother Rice High School teacher stabbed to death—allegedly by a woman he found on a hookup site—seems to have dabbled in the site before, with nearly two dozen escort ads found on his desk, Sun-Times Media reports.

Police discovered 20 escort ads from Backpage.com on the desk of Al Filan, who was stabbed 14 times and died in the kitchen of his Orland Park home where he was found Jan. 21.

Prosecutors allege Alisha Walker, a prostitute Filan chose from the notorious hookup site, argued with Filan over money and stabbed him in the back of his neck, chest, left arm and abdomen, according to an autopsy. He also sustained defensive wounds to his arms.

Assistant State’s Attorney John Dillon previously said police found Walker after examining Filan's phone and finding text messages to a phone number connected to the website. Walker had previously pleaded guilty to prostitution charges at least three times, according to the report.

The young woman's family claims Filan threatened Walker and a companion with a knife and she killed him in self-defense.

She is being held without bail in the Cook County Jail and is next slated to appear in court May 28.

Considering Patch has been carrying escort ads for the last few months I would probably say the writers and editors of this site don't give a ratsass what you think. As long as you are all commenting on the article, Patch wins.

Yes, this man was a well loved and respected teacher. What he did on his own time was his business. I would never check the website, however, I would only hope the authorities would concentrate on closing it down and others like them so this will never happen to another lonely person. I do hope the one in jail that killed him gets a life sentence as this was not self defense. Also, unless she is the states star witness, I'll never understand why the other prostitute was not charged with any crime!!!
