Storm Peels Back Roof of Orland Fire Station

Out on calls during Tuesday's storms, firefighters returned to a damaged station.

Heavy winds during strong storms Tuesday evening left a mark on an Orland Fire Protection District station.

Firefighters stopped into Station #5, 8851 W. 143rd St., to find it "raining inside of the firehouse." The station's flat roof membrane had been pulled back by wind, exposing half of the area where the trucks are parked, according to a release from the district.

Electronics and digital equipment, and the firefighters' living quarters were not damaged.
