Two Men Broke Into Six Office Suites Sunday Morning

Police are looking for two tall white men in black hoodies who grabbed electronics before leaving the scene.

Orland Park police are looking for information regarding two men seen leaving an office building after reportedly breaking in and stealing electronics Sunday morning.

Police were called about a possible burglary at an office building in the 15000 block of Ravinia Avenue. A man delivering payroll materials to one of the offices said he found a door was forced open and then saw two men running away from the area around 12:15 a.m., Orland Park Police Sgt. Scott Malmborg said Tuesday morning.

The two men ran east from the scene toward a nearby Dominick's grocery store, Malmborg said. A newer model white SUV was seen leaving the office building area right around the time the two men were seen.

Six offices were broken into, using pry tools and screwdrivers. At least three laptop computers, a flat-screen TV and a video camera were taken, according to Orland Park police.

The men were both described as white with slender builds, 6-foot tall and with long hair hanging close to their shoulders. Both were said to be wearing black hoodies.

No alarm went off during the break-ins, Malmborg said. A K-9 was sent out to pick up a scent, but lost the trail between shopping plazas west of the building.

"This is the first series of its kind we've had in a while," Malmborg said. "I'm surprised there was no alarm. There likely wouldn't have been five other burglaries if an alarm went off."

Anyone with information about the break-ins should contact Orland Park Police Detective Raymond Kelly at 708-364-4745.
