Witnesses Could Provide Alibis in Sexual Exploitation Case

A jury trial is slated April 30 for Kevin Skaritka, who is charged with multiple counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault and more. His attorney claims he was at work during the times when the crimes allegedly happened.

Cook County Judge John J. Hynes on Monday gave defense attorney Robert Callahan three days to file a list of people who can testify that Skaritka was not where the state says he was.

“With all due respect, he’s actually punched in at work at the times alleged in this case,” Callahan told Hynes.

Since posting $50,000 for his release in May, Skaritka has been confined to his home under the Cook County Sheriff’s electronic monitoring program.

Twice in four months, Hynes has denied Callahan’s request to take Skaritka off the monitoring program, noting on Monday that the whereabouts of the defendant’s guns——is still a concern for the court.
