10 People Up for Orland Library’s Open Board Seat

Ten people have formally applied to assume an open seat with the Orland Park Public Library’s Board of Trustees.

Interviews with prospective board members will be conducted by the current board, and are expected to start in January, though dates have not yet been set, according to Orland Park Public Library spokesperson Bridget Bittman.

People who live in nearby unincorporated areas technically are not residents of the Orland Park, and could therefore be ineligible for the open seat. According to the library’s bylaws, all board members must be residents.

One of the 10 people who applied lives in an unincorporated area. The board hasn’t yet decided whether Barb McNellis, the unincorporated resident who applied, will be interviewed or not. The board hasn’t selected any of the 10 who applied yet for interviews, according to Bittman.
