10 People Up for Orland Library’s Open Board Seat

Interviews haven’t started yet and people interested in being a part of the Orland Park Public Library’s Board of Trustees can still submit a letter of intent and resume to be considered.

Ten people have formally applied to assume an open seat with the Orland Park Public Library’s Board of Trustees.

Interviews with prospective board members will be conducted by the current board, and are expected to start in January, though dates have not yet been set, according to Orland Park Public Library spokesperson Bridget Bittman.

People who live in nearby unincorporated areas technically are not residents of the Orland Park, and could therefore be ineligible for the open seat. According to the library’s bylaws, all board members must be residents.

One of the 10 people who applied lives in an unincorporated area. The board hasn’t yet decided whether Barb McNellis, the unincorporated resident who applied, will be interviewed or not. The board hasn’t selected any of the 10 who applied yet for interviews, according to Bittman.

Here are the 10 people who have applied, listed in alphabetical order by last name:

  • James Bokota
  • Daniel Drew
  • Beth Gierach
  • Mary Harrington
  • Michael Jennings
  • Barb McNellis
  • Steven Osmolski
  • Christopher Thill
  • Athina Xirogiannis
  • Linda Zec-Prajka

Those interested in applying for the open board seat should send a resume and letter of intent to board president Nancy Healy at nhealy@orlandparklibrary.org

Applicants can also mail or drop off materials at the library. The address is 14921 Ravinia Ave., Orland Park, IL 60462.
