Mariano's Could Bring About 400 New Jobs to Frankfort

The project to build a new Mariano's Fresh Market location still needs village approval, but it's getting closer to a reality. Take a look at what upscale grocery store might look like.

Although it still needs village approval, a project to build a Mariano's Fresh Market location off of LaGrange Road is shaping up to transform the Frankfort landscape, literally and financially.

Last week, . The sale is contingent on the project's approval.

Also last week, Bradford representatives told members of the Frankfort Plan Commission at a public hearing and workshop that the new upscale grocery store could bring about 400 to 450 jobs to the village. The developers also unveiled plans that included a mock-up of the store's exterior design, as well as a layout of the 73,000-square-foot site.

The developers want to begin construction this summer, so the store could open by spring 2013, said Steven M. Pagnotta, the president and CEO for Bradford Development.

The next step for the project is a formal presentation of the final plans before the plan commission. After that, the project needs approval from the village board to go forward.

Suprisingly, Mariano's is not all that pricey.... I have shopped at one of their facilities in the city of Chicago and was totally impressed. I say bring it!

@Kathy K: These jobs would be connected to the daily operation of the store. So these jobs would include everything from cashier to store manager. Joe Vince Local Editor, Frankfort
