Orland Township Takes Over 900 Votes in Record Early Vote Launch
Early voting in Cook County reached a new height Monday, with one of the busiest sites in Orland Park.
The 2012 General Election has begun, at least in the form of early voting.
Registered Cook County voters have until Nov. 3 to take advantage of early voting at one of the 44 sites throughout suburban Cook County, including the Orland Township offices.
As of 6 p.m. Monday, 932 voters stopped by the township building to cast a vote at what was acknowledged by Cook County Clerk David Orr's office as one of the busiest sites.

The nearest early voting site used to be at the Frederick T. Owens Village Hall, though it was moved to the township to accomodate greater voter numbers with 20 touch screen modules, according to Cook County Clerk spokeswoman Courtney Greve.
The village said they never had a problem meeting the demand, with 14,000 people voting within the period in 2008, according Orland Park Public Information Officer Joe LaMargo
