Village OKs $107K Orland Plaza Demolition

Orland Park trustees voted to give the contract to a Tinley Park company during the March 18 board meeting.

Another large piece of the former Orland Plaza near 143rd Street and LaGrange Road will soon be no more, the Sun-Times Media reports

Trustees approved a $107,000 contract with Bechstein Construction Corp. of Tinley Park to demolish much of the now village-owned plaza, excluding Gee-Schussier Insurance and Marquette Bank on the east end. Those properties will remain through 2013.

The property was purchased as part of the village’s Main Street Triangle redevelopment plan. Future development plans call for a mixture or residential, office and retail spaces.
