3 New Principals Hired for D135

Three new hires in the District, for roles at Meadow Ridge, Center School, and High Point.

Three new Orland School District 135 principals were approved for the 2014-15 school year at the May 12 Board of Education meeting.

Shannon Roedel will take over as Principal of Meadow Ridge School beginning July 1, replacing current principal Brian Fogarty, who was appointed as the Assistant Director of Curriculum in March.

Roedel comes to District 135 from Glen Ellyn School District 41, where she was the Director of Special Services and Projects and served as Principal of Abraham Lincoln Elementary School for six years.

 “We welcome Ms. Roedel to Meadow Ridge School and her background is a great addition to the highly skilled team of principals in District 135,” said Board of Education President Joe LaMargo.

Jennifer Nichols will move into the role of Center School Principal, to succeed current Principal Sue Hofferica, who will retire at the end of this school year. Nichols joined the District last year as the assistant principal at Jerling Jr. High and has an extensive background as a reading specialist. The Board approved her resignation for her recent appointment as Summer School Principal upon her approval as Center School Principal.

Nancy Stachura, a Reading Interventionist at High Point School was appointed for the Summer School Principal. She previously served as an assistant principal at High Point from 2006 to 2011.
