Athlete of the Week: Sandburg Football's Mike Rago Strikes Paydirt
After two weeks, senior fullback/linebacker Mike Rago leads the Eagles in scoring with three touchdowns.
In two games, he's found the end zone three times. Mike Rago, a senior who is listed on 's roster as a linebacker, has made his precense felt in short yardage situations on the offensive side of the ball, too.
He has rushed for a mere 35 yards, but he's played an instrumental role in victories over and . In fact, he was the man to score the first offensive touchdowns in both games for the Eagles.
He does have a good cast of characters supporting him on the offensive line. The Sandburg 'O' line is led by Indiana recruit . Up front, the boys in the trenches have carved clear paths to the end zone for Rago.

For his two touchdowns in a 37-0 victory over Stagg on Friday, Rago takes home Orland Park Patch Athlete of the Week honors. He leads the team in scoring with 18 points heading into Week 3.
Rago also rotates in as part of the linebacker core for the Eagles on the defensive side of the ball.
