Learn How to “Spend Smart and Save Smart” at Orland Township

Orland Township is hosting “13 Money Tips to Spend Smart/Save Smart!” on Wednesday, Jan. 26, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at 14807 S. Ravinia Ave. The free event is presented by Susan Taylor, University of Illinois Extension Consumer and Family Economics educator.
 
The interactive program will cover topics such as how to evaluate important goals, differentiate between needs and wants, understand how to set smart goals, assess the monies one owes and keep track of expenses, create a realistic spending plan, utilize financial assistance and other spending and saving tips. Participants will receive handouts and may complete written exercises in order to better understand the financial concepts and apply the new ideas.
 
While the economy remains unstable, many individuals search for ways to spend their money wisely and save what they can. This can be done by creating a plan and sticking to it.
