Gimme 5: Sandburg's Irvin Teaches Volleyball Basics

Some of Sandburg's success on the volleyball court can be traced to the work of freshman/sophomore coach Kevin Irvin. He starts with team-building drills.

Kevin Irvin has been coaching volleyball at Sandburg High School since he first was hired on eight years ago.

Last week, he was assisting Sean Airola and David Vales at Sandburg's annual volleyball camp.

Irvin worked for five years with the freshman girls, but will take on the sophomore team for the 2011 season. He has coached freshman boys throughout his tenure at Sandburg.
