Soccer: Sandburg Beats L-W Central, Grabs Sectional Title (Photos)

Despite the close 1-0 score, the Eagles controlled much of the game against the Knights to advance in the Class 3A playoffs.

Sandburg High School dominated a hard-fought game against Lincoln-Way Central High School, beating the host school 1-0 in the 3A Boys Soccer Sectional on Saturday.

Sandburg advances to the 3A Super-Sectional at Benedictine University in Lisle. The Eagles will play Fenwick at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30.

Even though Sandburg controlled much of the game, L-W Central's tough defense held the Eagles to one goal, scored early in the second half.
