SMS Band Performs Final Concert of School Year

On Tuesday, May 22nd, under the guidance of band director Mr. Glenn Pawlak, the St. Michael School Band held its Spring Concert. The senior and beginner bands performed for their fellow students that afternoon and then again in the evening for family members and friends.  At the evening performance, medals where handed out to several members of both the senior and beginner bands for their outstanding achievements at a solo contest held in earlier in the year. The band delighted their audiences with some classic arrangements as well as music from movies such as Beauty and the Beast and Rocky. Before the concert came to a close, the 8th grade members of the senior band took time to present Mr. Pawlak with a gift and shared their appreciation for his work and dedication to the band. Molly Williams, an 8th grade member of the SMS Band since 4thgrade said, “Mr. Pawlak you have taught me a valuable skill in learning to play the clarinet that I will keep through high school and beyond. Thank you.”
