SMS Students Had Fun Learning During Last Week of School

During the last week of school, St. Michael School students spent their last days of school still learning while on field trips. The first grade class enjoyed a trip to Brookfield Zoo. The students and teachers were accompanied by approximately 27 parent chaperons. Mother Nature provided a beautiful day in which the students took in their favorite animals. Each teacher, chaperon and student was also given a ticket to the Zoo’s Extreme Bug exhibit. The third grade students of St. Michael School went on an awesome field trip to the Museum of Science and Industry. Small groups of students were escorted by museum tour guides to help make this field trip a memorable learning experience. The students were in awe of the Genetics, Transportation, Storms, Invention, and Digestive System Exhibits. “Poop Happens,” the Digestive System Exhibit, was proof that learning can be fun. Students learned about baby chicks hatching in the Genetics Exhibit. One of the attractions in the Transportation Exhibit was piloting an airplane. The students also witnessed electricity, chemical interactions, and wind. By the reactions of the students, many of them will encourage their parents to take them back to the museum this summer for another visit.
