Athlete of the Week: Sandburg's Bendell Doesn't Back Down
Junior defender Paige Bendell helped the Eagles' girls soccer team produce a successful season.
Sandburg’s girls soccer season ended Friday with a, but the Eagles played with plenty of intensity, as they have all season.
H-F led just 1-0 after the first half, which featured strong defensive play. Sandburg’s defensive effort was led by Paige Bendell, who broke up several H-F attacks before the Vikings hit the gas with about 15 minutes left in the second half.
For her efforts, Bendell is recognized as Patch’s Athlete of the week.

Bendell will be leading a strong core group into next season as the team will try to make another state playoff run. The Eagles went 21-3-1 this season.
