Football: Sandburg Crushes Joliet Central for Homecoming Win

The Carl Sandburg Eagles varsity football team shut out the Joliet Central Steelmen from scoring a single point in a 40-0 blow out both on offense and defense.

The Sandburg Eagles brought a strong victory Friday night for Homecoming against Joliet Central, crushing them in a 40-0 shut out.

The Eagles got on the board early scoring two touchdowns within the first few minutes of the first quarter. Pavlos Marudas and Rasheed Carney both caught passes for the scores. Joliet Central’s defense pushed the Eagles back after the ball broke loose, but couldn’t get a score out of the plays.

Eagles running back Brian Langowski scored right as the second quarter began. Rick Klein came in strong in an often-unsung role, booting the ball across the field into the end zones on kickoffs.
