Gimme 5: Sandburg's Cangelosi Playing Family Game
Sophomore outfielder Austin Cangelosi is the young gun on the Eagles squad, but that doesn't mean he's not experienced.
Following Sandburg’s 6-0 regional championship baseball victory over T.F. South, sophomore outfielder Austin Cangelosi enjoyed a moment in the spotlight.
Cangelosi, who recently was moved up the varsity squad, went 2-for-2 with two singles and a walk. He also hit two RBIs and scored a run, showing veteran instincts on the basepaths.
Sandburg coach Doug Sutor has been pleased with Cangelosi's play on the varsity level. Already, he has shown baseball is in his genes. His dad, John, spent part of his 13-year major league career with the White Sox.

“Austin (Cangelosi) has really shored up some of our defensive deficiencies in the outfield," Sutor said. "Offensively, he has quick hands. He is going to be a good one."
When he's not playing baseball, Cangelosi enjoys listening to Nickleback and the Rascal Flatts.
