Gimme 5: Sandburg's Kappel Stands on Guard

's Victoria Kappel has been playing soccer for the better part of the last 13 years and has been in the net for the Eagles at the varsity level for the last three seasons. She is the team captain and has led Sandburg to an undefeated season so far.

Last year, she was involved in a serious car accident, but still was able to play that day and help the Eagles win a state semifinal match. She is nothing, if not determined.

The Eagles are sitting at 7-0-1 heading in to competition this week, and so far Kappel is on track of reaching her goal of winning every home match.

She notched six shutouts in the Eagles' first seven matches. And she recently was recognized for her work in goal as the Patch Athlete of the Week.
