Gimme 5: Sandburg's Olson Wants to Curl Up, Watch Rerun
Eagles' senior pitching ace Lora Olson still remembers the feeling of winning the state title last year. And she said wants nothing more than to do it again.
For Sandburg's Lora Olson, the feeling of winning just can't be matched. That's why she has her sights set on repeating her team's state title win last season.
"We all have that feeling still of how successful we were last year and how great it feels," she said. "We're striving to be the best we can be and to be No. 1."
Olson started playing softball with her sisters when she was little, which led to her staying involved in the sport. She used to play volleyball and basketball. And she was even into figure skating for a brief time period, but she gave all of those sports up for softball.

"It (softball) was just more important than anything else," she said. "I always found myself practicing softball more than any other sport. That's how I became more committed to softball."
In her free time, Olson said she tries to find time to practice her favorite hobby--baking. If she's not baking, she said most likely is still with her softball teammates.

"After practice, you would think we would all go our separate ways," she said. "But, no, we are still hanging out after practice."
Olson will continue her softball career at Indiana University when she graduates from Sandburg this spring.
