District 135 Sets the Course for a New School Year

The words "Welcome Back” came alive this week at a Back to School kick-off celebration hosted by Orland School District 135. Superintendent Dr. Janet Stutz and the Board of Education invited 800 staff members that make up the District, including teachers, support staff, maintenance and administration.
Dr. Stutz energized the crowd with a student focused video featuring thank yous from students across the District. Dr. Stutz stated “I am proud to be part of the Orland community and look forward to a successful year getting to know the staff and students of District 135.”
Board President Joe LaMargo also welcomed staff and introduced members of the Board, concluding with “We appreciate your hard work throughout the year in making the students of District 135 successful.”

The event took place on August 22 as part of the Teacher's Institute Day as teachers prepare to welcome back students for the first day of school on August 26th.
