IDOT Announces Friday Night Closure for LaGrange Road Bridge Removal

IDOT will close LaGrange Road from 135th to 143rd Streets for the Metra bridge demolition from 10 p.m. Friday, February 15 until 5 a.m. Saturday, February 16.

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that it will close LaGrange Road in Orland Park between 135th and 143rd Streets on Friday, February 15, 2013 from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. Saturday morning.

IDOT has been demolishing the old Metra Southwest Service bridge over LaGrange Road in advance of additional contracts scheduled to be let this year for the $90 million reconstruction and widening of La Grange Rd. from 131st St. to 179th St.

A new Metra railroad bridge was constructed last summer.

A detour will be in place each night. Drivers will be detoured via 143rd St., to IL Rt. 7/Southwest Highway to 135th St. to reconnect with La Grange Rd. All businesses and side streets will remain accessible during the closure.
