The City Lights Orchestra Returns to Orland Park's Centennial Park West

The Village of Orland Park presents The City Lights Orchestra at its Centennial Park West on Sunday, June 30 for a free concert from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The City Lights Orchestra, one of Chicago’s premier musical groups, will return to Orland Park’s 12-acre Centennial Park West on Sunday, June 30, performing from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Rich Daniels and The City Lights Orchestra have been entertaining audiences across the nation since 1974 with their renditions of everything from the Beatles to the Big Band Era to Sinatra to Motown. The orchestra has performed for corporations, government agencies, non-profit organizations and at social galas.

“Bringing back The City Lights Orchestra is a great way to begin the holiday celebration in Orland Park,” said Mayor Dan McLaughlin. “Centennial Park West is the perfect place to enjoy some beautiful outdoor music, spend time with your family and friends and start your July 4th festivities,” he said.

Located in the Colette Highlands Subdivision near 159th and 108th Avenue, Centennial Park West is at Park Station Boulevard and Somerglen Lane. The park has several rolling hills where attendees can sit to enjoy the performance.

“This will be the third year that City Lights will open the village’s July 4th festivities,” said Trustee Pat Gira, chair of the village’s Recreation and Parks Committee. “It’s a beautiful evening of magnificent music,” she said, adding, “And, Orland Park’s celebration continues on July 3rd with the Liberty Family Fun Run and Walk and the July 4th concert and fireworks at the main Centennial Park on West Avenue.”

Concessions, provided by Coopers’ Hawk Winery and Restaurant, will be available for purchase throughout the evening. Free parking will be available at the adjacent Metra station with shuttle buses transporting attendees from the parking lot to the concert site.
