5 Great Non-Profits in the Area: Patch Picks

Every Thursday, we'll offer you five picks of quality to be found in town.

We all need help at a point. But where do we turn? Fortunately in town, several non-profit organizations are carrying the load for our fellow neighbors. These groups are working to help people in need, enriching lives and making a difference.

With our collective well being in mind, this week’s Patch Picks is suggesting different non-profit organizations in the area that are changing lives for the better. And come back next week, because every Thursday at 3 p.m., we will offer a list of events, specials, worthwhile causes, places to go for assorted enjoyment and things to do with your time.

Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation: This Orland Park-based organization collects toys to give to children going through cancer treatment at hospitals across the country. When a child is down during treatment, they take a trip to the Treasure Chest for a toy.
