Fundraiser Round Up: Neat Repeats, Poker Run and Style Shopping

A short list of charitable organizations and fundraisers that we think you should know about. Suggest others in the comments.

Local Charitable Organizations

Neat Repeats is a resale shop run by and benefitting the Crisis Center of South Suburbia, an organization that provides services for victims of domestic violence. Neat Repeats provides one third of the organization’s annual revenue.

Located along 159th street east of 94th Avenue in Orland Park, the shop offers clothing, antiques, collectibles, toys, small furniture, books and jewelry at discounted prices.

Volunteers staff the store, as well as high school teens earning community service hours by donating their time. One volunteer, Cass Piorkowski, said he finds “giving his time to a worthy cause” the most pleasurable aspect of volunteering at Neat Repeats.

Donations of clean, new and gently used items are accepted daily. A call in advance is preferred if you intend to drop off more than 10 boxes of items.

Orland Township Food Pantry

The Orland Township Food Pantry provides nutritious meals for local families in need and depends on donations to do so. Located at with the Orland Township Administrative Offices at 14807 S. Ravinia Ave., the pantry is open Monday though Friday.

Fundraisers 

CCSS Eye4Style Event

Crisis Center for South Suburbia Auxiliary is hosting a fundraising event at Eye4Style in Burr Ridge on Oct. 12. The shopping event will feature jewelry, handbags and accessories and 10 percent of all sales will benefit the Crisis Center.

is holding their annual golf outing Oct. 6th at Silver Lake Country Club in Orland Park. Check-in will start at 11 a.m. with a 12 noon shotgun start.

Cold Stone Creamery stores in the Chicago metro area will give away a free 3-ounce serving of the featured Creation, Sprinkled with Wishes, while encouraging guests to donate to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
