Position Description

The U.S. House of Representatives 1^st Illinois District includes portions of Orland Park, Orland Hills, Tinley Park, Evergreen Park, Oak Forest, Oak Lawn, Palos Park, Palos Heights, Frankfort, Mokena, New Lenox, Crestwoood, Midlothian, Alsip, areas in Chicago and others. Before the new redistricting, the district had also included a similarly wide array of municipalities in the Chicago area.  

Rep. Bobby L. Rush (D-Chicago), who is running for re-election, currently holds the seat.
