On Saturday, March 24, Sandburg Varsity Badminton took 1st Place with a total of 33 points at the Lincoln-Way Central Invite. Schools represented were Lincoln-Way Central, Bolingbrook, Glenbard West, Reavis, Nequa Valley and Sandburg. First place medals were earned by Kara Kentner (#1 Singles), Jenna Ciaccio (#2 Singles), Julie Meza (#3 Singles), Rebecca Cuculich and Nicole Davids (#3 Doubles).

Members of the Village of Orland Park Veterans Commission recently attended an Orland Park Cub Scout Pack 383 pack meeting to accept cases of popcorn to be sent to military personnel. Adults pictured with the scouts include (l to r) American Legion Post 111 Commander Matt Piwoworski, Commissioner Catherine Foster, Den Leader Lisa Ring, Assistant Den Leader Bridget Mackey, Assistant Cubmaster Mike Carroll, Pack Committee Chair Tammy Muth, Assistant Den Leader Larry Covolo, Commissioner Phil Bell and Cubmaster Jim Rybarczyk. Pack 383 is chartered by the American Legion Orland Memorial Post #111.

Orland Park Mayor Dan McLaughlin and the village's Board of Trustees honored the Orland Park Knights Pee Wee Football Team at the board's December 19 meeting.

The third and fourth graders were honored for their second place championship in the Metro Youth Football League Super Bowl XXVIII. The team lost their first few games and then rallied, earning a berth in the Super Bowl where they faced a team from Hayes Park, losing 13 to 6.

Team members include George Kozar, Tony Simich, Nafez Jumah, Michael Gaughan, Ahmad Abuosba, Michael Bellew, Mohammed Jumah, Vince Barbato, Jake Sullivan, Johnny Coyle, Hayden Bedell, Michael Flood, Tylor Lovitt, Colin Smyth, Tommy St. John, Noah Hollendonner, Tommy Kwak, Naseem Haleem, Henry Wilson, Anthony Rutherford, Lukas Bigott, Jonah Farrar, Nate Washington, Cameron Woolery and James Brody.
