It took a little longer than expected, but Buona Restaurants and Catering opened Wednesday in Orland Park. The restaurant at 9525 W. 131st St. opened Wednesday. It is the 15th location for the family-owned Berwyn-based chain that got its start in 1981. The restaurant is open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and offers dine-in, carry-out and catering. The Orland location includes a drive-through lane, and sells beer and wine for people dining in. The menu includes beef and roasted chicken sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, pizza, salads, soups and milkshakes. There also is a kids menu. Tinley Park and Metra representatives will be handing out refreshments this week mark the opening of the new 80th Avenue Metra Rock Island Line Station. Commuter Appreciation Day, in honor of the new station, will begin at 5 a.m. March 22. The station serves about 2,400 daily commuters and features a clock tower, a great hall, a covered drop-off area and veranda, two restrooms and a fireplace. Work begins next week on a pedestrian underpass that is expected to be completed by the end of August. One feature of the new station that will not be ready by Thursday is the full kitchen and Internet café. Fans of Orland Park Bakery, which closed its longtime Orland Plaza location on Sunday, won’t have to wait long for the new store. The bakery will reopen at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 8, at its new location, 14850 S. LaGrange Road in the Dania Plaza.
