Police: Man Spits On Cops, Damages Basement After Drinking

An Orland Park man was also accused of threatening police officers with beatings, after they came to stop him from damaging items in a house.

A 20-year-old Orland Park man is facing an aggravated assault charge, after police said he threatened to beat them up and spat at them, while they were arresting him for damaging walls and doors in a basement. The Orland Park Police Department was called about a domestic dispute in the 15000 block of Castlebar Lane around 5:05 a.m. Dispatch relayed that a man was out of control, screaming and had to be held down by two men, according to a report. Officers found the man in the basement on the floor and held down by two other men, police said. The two men said the man they held never swung at them, but did punch wooden folding doors in the basement so many times they broke into several pieces, according to the report. Police: Drunken Man Curses, Then Kicks, Then Spits At Officers

Orland Park police had to drag a man out of a restaurant. He kicked an officer in the process, before spitting blood at them while in lock-up, according to a report.

An Orland Park man was accused of drunkenly kicking a police officer, then later spitting blood at police, after refusing to leave an area restaurant, according to a police report. Raymond I. Homolka, 55, of the 14000 block of Sheri Lane in Orland Park, was charged with aggravated battery, aggravated assault, criminal trespass to property, disorderly conduct and three counts of resisting a peace officer. On Feb. 5, the Orland Park Police Department was called about an intoxicated man at Petey’s II around 5:50 p.m. Staff told police that Homolka became drunk, then was “loud and belligerent” to people in the restaurant and refused to leave when asked to do so, according to a police report. Orland Park police reports, June 25 to July 1

FRIDAY, JULY 1 Shacongo A. Harris, 22, of the 100 block of Cloverleaf Road in Matteson, was charged with retail theft. A manager at the Discovery Clothing Co., 15645 LaGrange Rd., saw Harris remove sensor tags from two items of clothing and put the clothes in her purse just after 1 p.m., police said. Harris was released on bond. Alain J. Mejia, 33, of the 200 block of Willow Boulevard in Willow Springs, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving an uninsured vehicle and speeding. Police on patrol in the 16700 block of Wolf Road clocked Mejia going over 70 mph just after 3:30 a.m. The officer saw Mejia stumble out of his car and smelled alcohol on his breath, according to the report. Cops: Mother of Burglary Suspect Almost Hit Officers With Car

Orland Park officers were nearly hit by an irate woman in her car after her son was arrested in connection with a residential burglary.

Orland Park police officers had to dodge a vehicle driven by an irate woman while they were arresting her son on burglary charges. Officers were arresting a man near the corner of Lahinch Drive and Dunmurry Drive around 7:30 p.m. on May 21, in connection with an earlier residential burglary call. After Hasan A. Hadid, 18, was placed in a squad car, officers saw a black sports utility vehicle quickly back out of a driveway on Lahinch Drive and turn around to face the officers. The driver squealed her tires and revved the engine while driving in the direction of two officers, police said. Police Blotter: Team Thieving and Loud Voices

Orland Park police reports, April 26-28

THURSDAY, APRIL 28 Police were called about a retail theft at a department store in Orland Square Mall around 6:15 p.m. Security reported that a juvenile boy was seen taking T-shirts from racks, placing them in his pants and leaving the store without paying. The boy ran from security out into the parking lot, where he was stopped and the two shirts were recovered, police said. The boy was with other people who were in the mall, one of whom was later seen taking two pairs of pants and two shirts into a dressing room and then leaving the room without the items in hand before leaving the store without paying, police said.
