Judge: $975,000 Bail for Ashford House 5 is 'Proper'

Despite defense attorneys' insistence that five men police say were among 18 who recently unleashed on a group of local diners are "upstanding citizens" with "longstanding ties to their communities," a judge denied their bail reduction motions Wednesday

Defense attorneys painted a volunteer-oriented, sympathetic picture Wednesday of the five Indiana men accused in May of attacking a group of alleged white supremacists who were sitting down to eat in a Tinley Park family restaurant. Attorney Stuart Smith, who is representing John Tucker, 26, went so far as to say he believed the wrong group was arrested in the case, describing a "verbal argument that escalated," and outside court insisting the Five were acting in self defense. Suspects joining Tucker in front of Associate Judge Carmen K. Aguilar Wednesday were Cody Sutherlin, 23; Dylan Sutherlin, 20; Alex Stuck, 22; and Jason Sutherlin, 33. What a bunch of MORONS. They want to Attack white people for being NORMAL and not embracing the fact that ALL & ONLY white countries have been flooded with the 3rd world in a deliberate program of GENOCIDE. Then the media has to join in and say "well these guys don't hate white people, so that means they are white supremacists!". Get a grip people, you don't live in the 1960s. 'Ashford House 5' Plead Not Guilty to 185 Charges

Five men accused of being among a group of about 18 who authorities say attacked diners at the Ashford House in May were arraigned Thursday, when they appeared before three different judges. In July, attorneys will ask a judge to reduce their bail.

After appearing before three different judges in Cook County Court Thursday, five Indiana men each pleaded not guilty to 37 counts related to mob action, armed violence, aggravated battery and criminal damage to property.  Cody Sutherlin, 23; Dylan Sutherlin, 20; Alex Stuck, 22; John Tucker, 26; and Jason Sutherlin, 33; all stood before judges; hands behind their backs and free of handcuffs. They'd all had their faces shaved and hair shorn leaving them looking markedly different from mug shots taken the day of their arrests. The backs of their tan jumpsuits were each stamped in black with "D.O.C.," standing for "Department of Corrections," as all remained in jail on bails ranging from $175,000 to $250,000. There is nothing in the 86 page 'Pioneer Little Europe Prospectus' by H. Michael Barrett which promotes White Supremacy. What it does say, however, is that only Americans of European descent will get a hostile reception if they even dare to assemble peacefully. And the Irish connection isn't an artifical construct, as the author worked with the late John Whooley; one of the primary Irish leaders …   more ›

Private Attorneys for 'Tinley Park 5' Express Sympathy for Anti-Racist Cause

The National Lawyer's Guild was helpful in pairing at least some of the Ashford House attack defendants with attorneys who are sympathetic with anti-racist causes. Arraignment was postponed until June 21.

Five Indiana men accused of beating a group of unsuspecting white nationalists last month hired six attorneys to defend them against the laundry list of charges they've been indicted on. Authorities allege that "The Tinley Park Five" were partially masked on May 19 when they and about a dozen others overtook the Ashford House restaurant, throwing chairs and smacking steel batons on shaved skulls. READ: Our extensive local coverage on the Ashford House Attack. Each of the Five have been indicted on 37 total counts of mob action, armed violence, aggravated battery and criminal damage to property, but arraignment was held until June 21. What little evidence the Cook County Public Defender’s Office has received since May—subpoenaed records and…

Imagine if the people of this nation went over to solving their social controversies in the manner advocated by ARA, and then delivered the Justice system into the hands of those who are clever enough to make it all legal. I would rather be old fashioned and tolerate free speech.   more ›

Expert: Ashford Attack was Case of 'Skinheads' Vs. 'Boneheads'

An expert who studies both groups involved in the Ashford House attack Saturday said the meeting was "advertised for months" on Neo-Nazi websites. The notion that diners weren't white supremacists is "absurd," he says.

Experts say there's nothing new about violent acts among radical leftists. What differentiates members of the the Anti-Racist Action movement’s most recent attack, however, is where they chose to strike—a quaint locally-owned restaurant on a busy Tinley Park thoroughfare. "The anti-racists have always been a violent group trying to find Neo-nazis and beat them up," said Mark Potok, senior fellow with the Southern Poverty Law Center, or SPLC. "There has been a long history of these incidents. The difference is we've never seen one in a family restaurant on the south side of Chicago. That's really quite something." The chosen venue was among Tinley Park Mayor Ed Zabrocki's initial conundrums, too, he said on Monday. "One of my first thoughts…

'Mob Attack' Aftermath: Fundraising Emerges for Both Sides

Efforts to raise money are under way for two groups involved in a violent attack at the Ashford House in Tinley Park. Anti-racists are claiming responsibility for the brutality while officials have said white supremacists were the targets.

Radical solidarity, usually measured in bodies, bombs and bombast, is now being measured in dollars. Donation pages have been established for people on both sides of a blitzkrieg inside the Ashford House Restaurant on Saturday. Five Indiana men, along with 13 companions, connected with the Anti-Racist Action (ARA) movement are accused of targeting and beating an unsuspecting group of white nationalists. What supposedly began as the first meeting of the European Heritage Association (EHA)—which looks to provide resources for small business owners of their kind—ended in mob violence. One page hoping to garner $250,000 for bail, “adequate legal representation” and the care of their families of the men arrested has reached $850 in a couple …

This is the world since federal civil rights legislation went to a lunatic extreme and penetrated only the White community's social compact; leaving Chinatowns, gay communities, and Indian reservations to their free and self-determining ways. Now those who meet even quietly over lunch to discuss this less than democratic disparity are physically attacked, and see themselves denounced in the media…   more ›
