Former Sandburg Cashier Pleads Not Guilty to Theft

Cheryl Becker, 54, pleaded not guilty to two counts of felony theft in a Bridgeview courtroom this week, denying that she stole more than $9,600 in cash deposits.

An Oak Forest woman charged with two counts of felony theft has pleaded not guilty, according to court records. Police say Cheryl L. Becker, 54, of the 15600 block of Vista Drive in Oak Forest stole two cash deposits from Carl Sandburg High School in late August where she worked as a cashier, totaling $9,215.70. Becker is out of custody on $15,000 bond. She is being represented by attorney Raymond P. Garza. Consolidated High School District 230 began an internal forensic audit of money handling after three women were accused of stealing $10,000 in cash from the school’s cashier office on Sept. 5. I bet she read that Kustok is still innocent after 2 years and feels that if he can try getting away with MURDER, theft should be a piece of cake. Why, if she plays it right and collects Social Security, she can repay the money and get away with theft like Beavers is trying to do in Chicago. Where is swift justice and common sense?
