An Orland Park man is also accused of stealing from several cars in the village and in nearby unincorporated Cook County Wednesday morning.
A 21-year-old Orland Park man is facing felony charges after he was seen cutting open a Jeep’s roof, and was later caught with stolen items from other car burglaries, according to police. The Orland Park Police Department was called about a man seen in the 14000 block of Timothy Drive using a knife to cut open the roof of a Jeep Wrangler around 6:07 a.m., according to a release. The man ran from the area when the caller approached him, and responding officers chased him on foot, police said. Officers caught him at the Michael Drive and Sheri Lane intersection. THURSDAY, DEC. 13 Police were called to Kohl’s about a retail theft around 3:25 p.m. Security said a woman was seen placing three pairs of children’s jeans and a grey shirt into a shopping cart and entering a dressing room, according to the report. The woman left the dressing room, and was found outside the store having not paid for the four items still at the bottom of her cart, police said. The items are worth $146, according to the report. Informed by the business owner that a man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt was in possession of the salon’s cordless phone, police searched the block. According to the report, a salon employee said that a man indentified as Timothy Saxton, 21, of Orland Park, came into the shop and asked to borrow the phone. Saxton went out to the sidewalk. A 20-year-old Orland Park man is facing an aggravated assault charge, after police said he threatened to beat them up and spat at them, while they were arresting him for damaging walls and doors in a basement. The Orland Park Police Department was called about a domestic dispute in the 15000 block of Castlebar Lane around 5:05 a.m. Dispatch relayed that a man was out of control, screaming and had to be held down by two men, according to a report. Officers found the man in the basement on the floor and held down by two other men, police said.
