This past holiday season, I set out to look for new decorations for my Christmas tree. My living room was newly decorated with items from Thailand, accented with warm blues, greens, and browns. Heather Stribrny is patient. Where others might lose their tempers, the most you might get from Stribrny is a slow rise. The 29-year-old Orland Park mother has learned that baking requires precision, trust in oneself and a willingness to start over if something goes wrong. And she's still learning. "The oven could be too hot and the edges burn," Stribrny said, noting one of the many things that can go wrong when baking.
