WEDNESDAY, JAN. 23 Police were called to Lifetime Fitness about a former member put on notice not to return to the gym who was found inside the premises around 12:40 a.m. Gym employees found the man in the men’s locker room sitting and eating Taco Bell, police said. The responding officer asked the man if he knew he wasn’t supposed to be in the gym and he said yes, according to the report. Justin A. Jackson, 21, of the 17000 block of Auburn Ridge Road in Lockport, was charged with criminal trespass to property. Tinley Park Woman in Court For Allegedly Running Over Live-in Lover

The case against a Tinley Park woman charged with driving over her boyfriend will be back in court again next month.

Some women walk all over men. Christine Meyers allegedly drove over one. Meyers, 23, appeared in court for a brief hearing Thursday morning and was scheduled to return Feb. 28. The Tinley Park woman was arrested in December after an argument with her live-in boyfriend ended with her running him over with her car, police said. Meyers was charged with aggravated domestic battery in connection with the incident that allegedly left her 21-year-old boyfriend with severe burns to his chest, back and scrotum. The scrotum burns reportedly required surgery. Despite the grievous injuries supposedly suffered under Meyers' tires, the boyfriend reportedly at first told police someone else ran him over while he was crossing the street. According to a …

Tinley Park Man Charged With Beating Wife to Death Pleads Not Guilty

The Tinley Park man jailed for allegedly bashing his wife's head in with a weightlifting bar was arrested twice before on domestic battery charges.

A Tinley Park man jailed on murder charges for allegedly bashing his wife's head in with a weightlifting bar pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Friday. Bahaa Sam, 47, appeared before Judge Robert Livas via a closed circuit video feed from the Will County jail. Livas allowed the public defender's office to withdraw from the case so Palos Park attorney John Eannace could enter his appearance to represent Sam. An interpreter translated the proceedings into Arabic for Sam, who is being held in lieu of $5 million bond. Sam allegedly bludgeoned his wife, 38-year-old Nermeen Sam, to death Dec. 19, clubbing her in the head at least 10 times with a weightlifting bar. SATURDAY, SEPT. 22 Police saw an SUV back up into a light pole, causing the pole to shake, in a parking lot in the 14400 block of LaGrange Road around 2 a.m. The SUV matched earlier descriptions called in about an erratically driving vehicle, police said. The driver pulled away without checking the pole for damage, heading north on LaGrange Road when the SUV was pulled over, according to the report. The driver’s breath smelled like alcohol, he stumbled as he exited the SUV and he failed field sobriety tests, police said. Neither his SUV nor the pole were heavily damaged, according to the report. THURSDAY, SEPT. 6 Police were called about a retail theft at Sears at 2 Orland Square Drive around 2:40 p.m. Security said a woman was seen pushing a shopping cart while carrying a brown purse that appeared collapsed, according to the report. The woman selected several store items, and wasn’t looking closely at the merchandise, before going into a dressing room, police said. She emerged from the dressing room with her purse looking more filled up, and replaced several items on store shelves before leaving the store without paying, according to the report. THURSDAY, AUG. 9 Police pulled over a car for driving 38 mph in a 20 mph zone near 157th Street and 80th Avenue around 3:20 a.m. The officer smelled alcohol on the driver’s breath and he failed field sobriety tests, police said. Kevin M. Rettke, 19, of the 15700 block of Deerfield Court in Orland Park, was charged with driving under the influence and speeding. MONDAY, JULY 23 Police were called about a retail theft at the Apple Store around 1:20 p.m. Security said a man was seen placing a set of headphones inside a bag, before returning other merchandise and leaving the store without paying for the headphones, police said. Kenneth L. Hunt, 41, of the 1300 block of Bruck Street in Columbus, Ohio, was charged with retail theft. SUNDAY, JULY 22 Police were called to Centennial Pool about a two women fighting in the parking lot around 7 p.m. Two women were arguing when one pushed the other, police said. MONDAY, AUG. 6 Police pulled over a vehicle when the driver was seen not wearing a seat belt around 5:10 p.m. in the 9100 block of 151st Street. A warrant was found for a passenger in the car, police said. Torrin A. Caldwell, 25, of the 18200 block of Ravisloe Terrace in Country Club Hills, was arrested on a Cook County warrant for retail theft. WEDNESDAY, JULY 18 Police were called by South Holland police about a man wanted on an Orland Park warrant in their custody around 1:30 p.m. Eric J. Neumann, 27, of the 200 block of Haven Avenue in New Lenox, was arrested on a warrant for resisting a peace officer. TUESDAY, JULY 17 A woman came to the Orland Park Police Department to report a domestic battery. She told officers that around 12:15 p.m. on the same day she was arguing with a man, and during the argument he had pushed her, according to the report.
