The 25 detached, single-family homes sold during December in Orland Park outpaced the 19 homes sold in December 2011, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors (MORe). In November, homes were sold in Orland Park, compared to 27 sold in November 2011. Despite climbing home sales, the median price of homes sold in December ($253,500) continue to decline over the median price of homes sold December 2011 ($275,000), a 7.8 percent-decrease. The 30 detached, single-family homes sold during November in Orland Park represented a 11.1 percent increase over sales during November 2011, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors (MORe). Last month, 34 homes were sold in Orland Park, compared to 21 sold in October 2011. In addition, the median price of homes sold in November ($289,950) was 10.3 percent higher than the median price of homes sold in November 2011 ($263,000). Home sales in the Chicago area during September were at a six-year high, according to a recent RE/MAX report—and most of the Southland saw a similar boost. Orland Park saw a slight increase in the area, with the number of homes sold increasing from 19 sold in Sept. 2011 to 22 sold in Sept. 2012, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors (MORe). On the down side for Orland's market, the average price of those homes decreased slightly by 3 percent year over year, from $283,942 to $275,318.
