State Testing DNA Evidence in Fatal DUI

Prosecutors in the case against a 25-year-old man charged with reckless homicide for a DUI-related accident that killed a Lockport nurse said Tuesday they will be testing blood found at the scene.

Investigators will test blood found at the scene of a DUI-related accident that killed a Lockport nurse last summer for DNA evidence, prosecutors said during a hearing Tuesday. Matthew Senica, 25, has pleaded not guilty to 14 counts of aggravated DUI and one count of reckless homicide in connection with the July 8 accident that killed 51-year-old Heidi Roseen on her way to work as a nurse at Advocate Christ Medical Center. Police said Senica was driving back to Orland Park from what Senica told police was a night of drinking in Chicago. He was heading south on LaGrange Road, and drove through the red light at the intersection with 95th Street at well over 70 mph, according to police. Defense in DUI Death Case Looking for Accident Reconstruction

A 25-year-old Orland Park man is facing one count of reckless homicide, after he was in an accident resulting in the death of a 51-year-old nurse from Lockport.

Authorities are working to reconstruct the scene of an accident last summer that killed a nurse on a her way to work, attorneys said Tuesday, Dec. 10. Matthew Senica, 25, has pleaded not guilty to 14 counts of aggravated DUI and one count of reckless homicide. He remains in custody after his bond was set at $1 million. At Tuesday's hearing, Senica's attorney Russell Miller told Judge Carmen K. Aguilar that he believes the action of reconstruction is still missing from discovery. Senica, clad in standard Cook County Department of Corrections garb, didn't speak during the hearing and kept his head lowered. Attorneys Still Exchanging Evidence in Fatal DUI Case

Evidence is still being exchanged in the case against a 26-year-old Orland Park man charged with felony aggravated DUI and reckless homicide, for his role in an accident that killed a nurse on her way to work. Matthew Senica, 26, appeared in standard khaki-colored Department of Corrections garb during a brief hearing in a Bridgeview courtroom Thursday, Nov. 1. He has been in custody on a $1 million bond since July. Police say Heidi Roseen, 51, was on her way to Advocate Christ Medical Center from her Lockport home to work a shift as a nurse on July 8. It takes months and years for someone who is guilty beyond belief to even get to trial. Orland Park Man Indicted on 14 Counts of Aggravated DUI After Fatal Accident

Matthew Senica, 25, is still in custody on $1 million bond for accident that took a nurse's life.

An Orland Park man was indicted Tuesday on 14 counts of aggravated DUI and one count of reckless homicide for his role in an accident that took the life of a nurse on her way to work. Matthew Senica, 25, of the 13700 Block of 88th Ave. was indicted by Judge Peter Felice at the Cook County Circuit Court in Bridgeview and is still in custody on a $1 million bail. He was charged July 11 with felony aggravated driving under the influence.  The nurse, 51-year-old Heidi Roseen of Lockport, was on her way to Advocate Christ Medical Center from her Lockport home, heading east on 95th Street at about 6:20 a.m. July 8 around, according to Cook County Sheriff Spokesman Frank Bilecki.
