Updated 7:45 p.m., Tuesday, May 14, 2013 An Orland Park man, who was accused of fleeing police on a motorcycle, while popping wheelies, weaving in and out of traffic and taunting officers, was sentenced Tuesday after changing his plea to guilty. Justin Jachimiec, 23, was sentenced by Judge Carmen Aguilar to 18 months in the Illinois Department of Corrections, followed by one year of parole. Jachimiec pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated fleeing and eluding a peace officer, which is a Class 4 felony. He originally pleaded not guilty to the two felony charges, as well as one count of possession of a stolen motor vehicle and several traffic violations. Attorney Brad Telander received documents from the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office during his second hearing representing a 22-year-old man from Orland Park, accused of taunting police on a motorcycle while videoing the escapades.
The new attorney for Justin Jachimiec collected a large stack of discovery documents from the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, during the first hearing since assuming the accused “Orland Ghost Rider’s” defense. Glen Ellyn attorney Brad Telander acknowledged accepting the documents he described as “voluminous,” during a brief court hearing in Judge Joan O’Brien’s Bridgeview courtroom Tuesday. Jachimiec is accused of riding a dirt bike dangerously close to other cars on the road and Orland Park police squad cars, popping wheelies while passing and taunting police. The Orland Park man accused of videoing himself as he eluded and mocked police on a motorcycle will be hiring a new attorney, after his previous one was disqualified because of a conflict with a key witness.
A 22-year-old Orland Park man facing felony charges related to videos made of popping wheelies on a motorcycle, while riding close to other vehicles on the road and taunting police that ended up on YouTube, is seeking new representation. The trial for Justin Jachimiec was set to begin on Feb. 6, but during jury selection, his attorney Patrick Doherty found he was also representing one of the state’s key witnesses in a different case still in court, and was disqualified. A public defender was appointed immediately, while Jachimiec and his family decided whether they would stick with the appointed lawyer, or hire another. The trial of an Orland man accused of videotaping himself fleeing and eluding police on a motorcycle in clips that later ended up on Youtube was set to begin Wednesday, but his lawyer was dismissed because of a conflict regarding a witness.
Update, 6:04 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013 Attorney Patrick Doherty was slated to represent in court 22-year-old Justin Jachimiec, accused of videoing himself popping wheelies on a motorcycle and mocking police, as he rode by squad cars and other vehicles in a residential area of Orland Park. However, during jury selection on Wednesday, Doherty found that one of the state’s key witnesses is a client of his on an unrelated case still pending in court. As a result, Judge Carmen Aguilar dismissed Doherty from representing further Jachimiec on his case. During Thursday’s proceedings, both Aguilar and Assistant State’s Attorney Donna Norton said that Doherty brought the connection to the court’s attention as soon as he found out the witness’s …

Justin Jachimiec, whom police say is the wheelie-popping, police-fleeing motorcycle rider seen on YouTube, is scheduled to begin his trial on Feb. 6.
A new trial date for early February has been set for the 22-year-old man accused of being the Orland "Ghost Rider," a wheelie-popping motorcyclist who videoed himself fleeing police, clips of which were later found on YouTube. Justin Jachimiec has pleaded not guilty to the charges against him, including two counts of felony fleeing and eluding police and other traffic violations. Jachimiec is currently in custody in the Cook County Department of Corrections on a no-bond order after he missed an October court date. It's a law that they get credit for time served. He's in pretrial custody; he wasn't free. He was held because he was charged with a crime, and like everyone charged with a crime, a bond was set and in this particular case, he couldn't post bond. And yes, other charges were dropped and yes, it was "Let's Make a Deal" because he pleaded guilty. Take a sedative. Relax.   more ›
