Update, 10:35 p.m., Monday, May 13 Orland School District 135 Board of Education members were chosen for commissions and as delegates Monday night, during their first full board meeting. Committee appointments: Delegates Ann Marie Riordan, who now serves as Liberty School's assistant principal, was unanimously appointed to principal starting July 1. Print the Application for D135 Board’s Open Seat

The Orland School District 135 Board of Education is now seeking applicants to fill the seventh board seat, vacated when John Carmody resigned in April.

People interested in applying for the open seat on Orland School District 135’s Board of Education can fill out the above form, and submit it by 4 p.m. Friday, May 17 to the Superintendent’s office at 15100 S. 94th Ave. in Orland Park. “Once the applications are received, the Board plans to host an open public forum for the community to ask questions and be a part of the process,” D135 Board President Joe LaMargo said in a release. “Details on the public forum will be released at a later date.” Click on the blue ‘print’ link next to the Scribd logo above the document to get a copy of the application. New Board Members Join D135 and Officers Selected (Live Blog)

The Orland Park Village Board and Orland School District 135 both met Monday night to swear in winners of the April election. Read our live blog for a transcript from both meetings.

Update, 10:30 p.m., Monday, May 6 The newly sworn-in Orland School District 135 board members selected officers Monday night. Joe LaMargo was voted in as board president, Mike Carroll was selected as vice president and Sandra Kulak was chosen as board secretary. All officers were voted unanimously in favor.  LaMargo said the selection process for a seventh board member to fill John Carmody's former seat will begin with applications. Once the applicants are whittled down to five candidates, a public forum will be held where residents will be able to ask questions. D135 Special Meeting Cancelled Due to No Quorum

Three current board members did not show to a special Orland School District 135 meeting Tuesday, which was scheduled to fill a recent vacancy left on the board.

Updated: 10:05 p.m. and 11:15 p.m. Tuesday, April 30 Not enough Orland School District 135 board members were present Tuesday night for a special meeting called to fill the seat left vacated by one member last week. Board vice president Ann Gentile, secretary Tina Zekich and member Tom Cunningham were present at the meeting held in the district administration building’s learning center, but members Joe LaMargo, Mary Bragg and Lynne Donegan did not show. Gentile, Zekich and Cunningham called for the special meeting, which was scheduled for 7 p.m. Four members needed to be present for the board to take action Tuesday night. “At this time we have three other board members who have not shown up,” Gentile said, just before cancelling the …

What happens behind closed doors is supposed to stay behind closed doors. that said, I too put Mary with the others. However, that does that change my vote at this point. I also do not feel that she should be the new board member solely on this action.
